China Division -- Full accreditation for our Chinese subsidiary

B.W. Murdoch China is now fully established in China having registration for import/export in addition to being a fully operational local company with VAT accreditation etc.

It is our hope and expectation that our strong presence in China will be of significant benefit to our NZ clients.

Presently work in China includes the final commissioning of a complete cheese manufacturing facility for Mengniu Dairy in Inner Mongolia.

NZ Winter 2008: Projects undertaken for Fonterra this winter include:

Maungaturoto Whey Tanks: This project was largely concerned with the replacement of existing crystallising vessels with new ones. Considerable demolition and removal work was followed with the installation of new vessels complete with all associated equipment and re-automation etc.

Te Awamutu Butter Maker Installation: Our organisation having in past years rebuilt virtually the entire Te Awamutu butter factory we were again awarded a contract which essentially completed the upgrade of this facility: the installation of two new Westfalia Butter making machines complete with all associated integration works.

Edgecumbe Decanter Installation: Our long association with the Edgecumbe site was extended again this year when we were awarded the contract to install two large dewheying decanters in the Casein Plant. The significant works included the removal of redundant process plant, substantial building alterations and major electrical works.

Spray Drier Safety Works: A continuation of previous enhancement works to the Fonterra spray drier protection systems where working jointly with Fonterra we have progressively standardised the water deluge protection on most Fonterra sites.

Product Less Recovery: Our (patient pending) silo loss minimisation process having been adopted by Fonterra continued this winter with the inclusion of significant further installations of this technology.
